TOWN ACCOUNTANT, TOWN OF TISBURY

Town Accountant-Town of Tisbury (population 4,740) is seeking an experienced, thoughtful, and skilled accountant to serve as its Town Accountant. Must have bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting. Salary $125,000 +/-,  commensurate with experience.  The Town Accountant will perform the duties and responsibilities of the Town Accountant as defined by Massachusetts General Laws, including administrative and supervisory duties, technical accounting, financial, and computerize functions in maintaining the municipal accounting system and other reporting and related work required in discharging the duties of the office.The Accounting Department is part of the Finance Division under the supervision of the Finance Director who serves as Treasurer and Tax Collector. HARBORMASTER

The Town of Tisbury (population 4,740) is seeking to fill the position of Harbormaster. Candidate should have strong communication, both written and verbal. Candidate must have customer service skills and the ability to work with the public and the businesses on the waterfront. Must be able to work collaboratively with governing board, management, departments, collective bargaining unit, public safety, appointed advisory board and the public. Bachelor’s degree preferred or master craftsman level of trade knowledge and 5-7 years boating experience. Valid Massachusetts class D Motor vehicle license, 50-ton USCG Master captains license, satisfactory completion of initial course of training approved by the harbor master training council within 2 years of hire, as required by MGL c102,19Z, Preventing and responding to spills of different types of hydrocarbons and Island residency strongly preferred.  Salary $98,887.68 +/-, commensurate with experience. The Harbormaster is a highly responsible position and performs supervisory, administrative, and management functions, and for ensuring orderly and safe use of Tisbury waterways. Public Works and Wastewater–Shared Department Secretary

Town of Tisbury seeks individual to perform administrative duties. Administrative support for the activities and operations of the Department of Public Works and Wastewater Department.  Some duties include: Answering phones, Wastewater Billing, and LDO turnovers. Local Building Inspector

The Town of Tisbury is looking to fill the position of Local Building Inspector. The position works under the Building Commissioner. Position assists the building and zoning enforcement officer with permit applications, conducts field inspections, reviews plan and enforces applicable Mass state building code, town zoning bylaws, rules and regulations. Both written and verbal communication skills are required for this position. Must have equivalent of five years’ experience in the supervision of building construction or design and zoning enforcement; or associate Degree in related field; as determined by the BBRS.  BOCC.  M2 step 1 starting pay rate:  $85,712.40 or commensurate with experience, plus paid leave, health insurance and pension benefits. Water Department -Water Craftsman or licensed

The Tisbury Waterworks Department, seeking qualified candidates to fill  Water Tech positions. Works under Water Superintendent and supervisor. Examples of duties include. Manual Labor related to Waterworks operation, install, repair meters, maintains vehicles and other repairs, Field work and any other work as required.  All Positions requires: Ma  Driver license  at time of hire, Hydraulic license preferred. Duties include shelving books, light cleaning, setting up for events and other supportive tasks. 6-10 hours per week and may included evenings and weekends.
