The Town of Tisbury (year-round population 4,627) on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard (with summer population over 94, 000) and the principal year-round port for the island is seeking its next full time Fire Chief. Governed by a three-member board of Selectmen, the Fire chief oversees a $389,967 budget for the department that is staffed with volunteer firefighters.
Minimum requirements include 7 years in fire services with at least 5 years supervisory experience. Fire Officer Training program graduation, Valid Massachusetts Driver’s license, Massachusetts fire academy Fire officer 1/2/3/4 certification, HazMat/WMC/CT/ operation level responder; Nims 700 & ICS 100,200, 300, 400, 701, 702, 203,704, CPR, DOT Emergency 1st responder certification. Local Building Inspector
The Town of Tisbury is looking to fill position of Local Building Inspector. The position works under the direction of the Building Commissioner assisting with enforcing all construction, zoning and other related codes, application review, issuance of permits and construction inspections in accordance with applicable Mass state building code and town zoning bylaws and rules and regulations. Excellent customer service skills and both written and verbal communiciation skills are required for this position. Must have five years' experience in the supervision of building construction or design and zoning enforcement; or associate degree in related field; as determined by the BBRS. BOCC certification or conditional appointment required. M4 Full salary range: $66,732.48-$88,614.72, plus paid leave, health insurance and pension benefits.
