Inspector of Buildings and Zoning Enforcement Officer or Building Commissioner

The Town of Tisbury is looking to fill the position of Inspector of Buildings and Zoning Enforcement officer or Building Commissioner. Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal communication skills are required for this position. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in building and construction or design, or related field or five years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and progressively responsible experience in a field related to building construction or design, in compliance with Massachusetts General Laws. Must be certified by the board of building regulations and standards in accordance with regulations promulgated by said board. Valid construction supervisor’s license, Valid Driver’s license and participation in continuing education provided by the Board of Building and Regulations and standards. Salary range:  $92,898.08-122,732.64 commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid leave, health insurance and pension benefits. Tisbury Water Works Superintendent 

Governed by a three-member Board of Waterworks Commissioners, the Superintendent oversees a $1.8m Enterprise Fund for a department that employs up to 4 full time technicians and administrative staff. The Superintendent is responsible for the administration, organization, management, operation and control of the TWW, including planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all department operations, services and activities under the jurisdiction of the TWW. The Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of budgeting and fiscal control. Coordinates department activities with other town departments and private agencies. Responsible for the necessary laboratory, operational and maintenance duties of others to ensure the efficient and continuous operation of the utility in conformance with all state and federal guidelines and regulations. Valid Massachusetts driver's license. Valid Massachusetts Grade 2 Water Distribution and Grade 1 Water Treatment Licenses, Backflow Certified preferred,Cross-connection Surveyor Certified preferred. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and SCADA operations. Complete knowledge of process control, chemical feed and laboratory analysis. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred and at least five years’ experience in related field and two years of water utility supervisory experience or any equivalent combination. Ability to work nights and weekends during emergency situations and on-call duty if necessary. Starting Rate of Pay, FY23 M7 step 1 $92,498.40 or Commensurate with experience. Seeks to fill Carpenter position; to repair and maintain municipal buildings and grounds. Outside and weekend work may be required. Must have valid Drivers’ License and be able to lift and perform manual labor regularly. Full time (40 hours/weekly) year round,  Grade 5 step 1 $26.42  per hour or commensurate with experience.
