Part time temporary

The Town of Tisbury is looking for individual(s) for part-time temporary work for 3 to 4 months providing administrative support to the Select Board, Capital Planning Advisory Committee, and Town Administration.  The ideal candidate(s) will have prior work in a management office, public or private. The compensation is commensurate with experience.   Examples of work include assistance with insurance claims; licensing and permits, official recording of meetings, purchasing, bills payable, budget preparations and capital planning.  This is a great opportunity that could lead to future full-time municipal employment.  Training will be provided. Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience.

Ambulance Department – Full Time Paramedic

Town of Tisbury seeks individual to perform paramedic duties 40 hrs/weekly year-round, $35.96-$37.60 per/hour, Grade 9 step commensurate with experience. HARBORMASTER

The Town of Tisbury (population 4,740) is seeking to fill the position of Harbormaster. Candidate should have strong communication, both written and verbal. Candidate must have customer service skills and the ability to work with the public and the businesses on the waterfront. Must be able to work collaboratively with governing board, management, departments, collective bargaining unit, public safety, appointed advisory board and the public. Bachelor’s degree preferred or master craftsman level of trade knowledge and 5-7 years boating experience. Valid Massachusetts class D Motor vehicle license, 50-ton USCG Master captains license, satisfactory completion of initial course of training approved by the harbor master training council within 2 years of hire, as required by MGL c102,19Z, Preventing and responding to spills of different types of hydrocarbons and Island residency strongly preferred.  Salary $98,887.68 +/-, commensurate with experience. The Harbormaster is a highly responsible position and performs supervisory, administrative, and management functions, and for ensuring orderly and safe use of Tisbury waterways. Public Works Laborer

The Department of Public works Laborer position available; performs a variety of manual labor tasks for operation and maintenance of town. Must have a driver’s license and be able to lift and perform manual labor regularly. Full-time (40 hrs/weekly) year-round, compensation $23.05/ per hour Grade 2, Step 1 or commensurate with experience, full benefits under union contract. Local Building Inspector

The Town of Tisbury is looking to fill the position of Local Building Inspector. The position works under the Building Commissioner. Position assists the building and zoning enforcement officer with permit applications, conducts field inspections, reviews plan and enforces applicable Mass state building code, town zoning bylaws, rules and regulations. Both written and verbal communication skills are required for this position. Must have equivalent of five years’ experience in the supervision of building construction or design and zoning enforcement; or associate Degree in related field; as determined by the BBRS.  BOCC.  M2 step 1 starting pay rate:  $85,712.40 or commensurate with experience, plus paid leave, health insurance and pension benefits. Water Works 

The Tisbury Water Works, seeks qualified candidates to fill the position of Water Technician IV. Works under Water Superintendent and supervisor. Examples of duties include. Manual Labor related to Water works operation, install, repair meters, maintains vehicles and other repairs, Field work and any other work as requested.  POSITION REQUIRES: Ma  Driver license class 2, CDL and Hydraulic license required at time of hire, D2 and T1 Licensing. Vineyard Haven Library seeks part time Library Page. $15.59 per hour. Duties include shelving books, light cleaning, setting up for events and other supportive tasks. 6-10 hours per week and may included evenings and weekends. Town of Tisbury seeks applicants who are looking for Intermittent Substitute-Part Time-Temporary  work  to be called in as needed for administrative help. Any Department to help answer phones, sell permits and speak with customers who may come in to the office. If for a department with a board Pay is $21.11 per hour or commensurate with experience.
