What’s Going on in the Tisbury Shellfish Department
Friday, June 22: Babies on board
The Tisbury Shellfish Department took delivery of a cooler full of a quarter million baby quahogs Friday from the Martha's Vineyard Shellfish Group. The quahogs, about the size of a grain of sand, were later "planted" in sand-filled trays suspended under floats in Lagoon Pond. Once the quahogs have grown in size they will be distributed in town waters.
