On Friday, the Tisbury shellfish department assisted Tisbury Harbormaster John Crocker and searched for a wayward channel buoy that broke free of its anchor line and washed up on the shore of Lake Tashmoo. Tisbury shellfish constable Danielle Ewart and assistant shellfish constable Nelson Sigelman walked along the west side of the pond and spotted the green float off Kuffie's Point. The simplest way to retrieve the buoy was to float it in the water and walk back to where the shellfish department truck was parked. Mr. Crocker was grateful for the help.
