Phase 1 of Main St. Sidewalk Improvements Project

To Whom it may concern:

The Tisbury Department of Public works is pleased to announce we will be starting phase 1, our Main Street Sidewalk Improvements project next week
October 11, 2022.  It’s important to note: this project is multi-seasonal, with a final completion date of June 30, 2023.

This project will focus on pedestrian safety by creating key hinge points along Main Street, these hinge points coincide with each major crosswalk and will provide our pedestrians a safe viewing platform.

Like our neighboring towns, Tisbury will be installing trees, planters, benches, and bike racks along Main St. 

As you can imagine with a job of this magnitude both vehicle and pedestrian foot traffic may be altered, both business and patrons can expect limited parking, traffic delays, detours, and road closures for the next 6 to 8 months.
