I am pleased to announce that last week the Town was awarded a grant of $50,000 from the Massachusetts Historical Commission to assist with the rehabilitation efforts of our Spring Building. In addition to this grant award, an anonymous donor has gifted the Town $20,000 to also be used to rehab this building. The injection of these funds will be an enormous help in further reconstructing this building, in particular the windows and doors. The last 4-6 weeks has brought with it significant structural progress. This work, combined with the latest injection of funds, the building will soon be ready for the next phase of construction which will focus on among other details, the layout of the interior.
The Spring Building Committee continues to work diligently towards identifying new funding sources so that we may be able to build on the progress made thus far. If you have any comments or questions please do not hesitate to contact my office at 508.696.4203.
