Entry #6
First and foremost, please allow me to apologize for the delay in my posting.  Between the Tisbury Town Hall Annex relocation project, the preparation for construction of the new Emergency Services Facility and the drafting / preparation of the Town Meeting warrant, there's been little time for much else.  Nevertheless, the Town continues to move forward with many worthwhile projects.  It is our hope that these projects will have a direct and positive impact on the residents of Tisbury.

The new Emergency Services Facility in particular will be a state of the art facility that has incorporated design elements such as solar energy panels, geothermal heating / cooling system,  modern upgraded community room and  much more.  We are confident that this facility will be a building the entire town can be proud of.  It is worth mentioning that the auction held to determine the rate at which the Town borrows the money to fund the project was won by Roosevelt & Cross who submitted a winning bid of 2.92%.  This number represents one of the lowest interest rates the Town has ever received for a project of this size.  We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the bonding bid auction.

As the weather starts to improve, Tisbury is preparing for the busy summer months.  The Town's Beautification Committee will soon start their work which includes many wonderful projects while the DPW will soon be starting their Spring clean up and much more.  The Town will soon be locating two more solar trash compactors in Town that were purchased through the State of Massachusetts Clean Energy Choice Fund.  The units utilize solar power to compact the trash at certain intervals which in turn cuts the town resources that are needed to empty the trash as well as cutting the number of times the trash must be emptied.  Pilot projects in Boston, Philadelphia and beyond have proved to be effective.

Lastly, please remember that this year's Special Town Meeting will be held on April 6th at 7:00 in the Tisbury School Gymnasium and the Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday April 13th at 7:00 pm in the Tisbury School Gymnasium.  The election will be held on Tuesday April 27th, the polls are open from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the voting location is 27 Martin Rd. / American Legion Hall.

Thank you,

JB
